Accent: Fun Fun Fun Fest Photo Slideshow

PhotobucketI was lucky enough to attend one of Jorge Sanhueza-Lyon's workshops on videojournalism during the NCMC '09 Journalism Conference. Sanhueza-Lyon currently works for the Austin American Statesman as a videojournalist and it was during this workshop that he showed us this film he produced from 2009 Austin City Limit's Festival. I was so inspired that I decided to try this idea when I attended Fun Fun Fun Fest. I carried around my camera and a voice recorder and captured audio and photos from the bands I saw.

While he's a professional and I've never done anything like this before, my result is a bit sloppy but I was proud of how it came out in the end.

I do have to say though, that after editing the audio and putting together the photos, I have a new found respect for all the DIY musicians that produce their own albums. You definitely have to have the love and insanity to put in the effort to create detailed things like this.

Will I do more of these in the future? I dunno. It was definitely a labor of love. I loved the product, but I wouldn't want to do this for every show I saw. Who knows what time will tell...

This video was originally posted on the Accent's website. However, it was uploaded on the youtube so the quality isn't that great. So here it is in the quality it was meant to be seen on Vimeo.
