No Ban, No Wall march in Presidio, Texas

West Texas residents marched on Feb. 25, 2017 in Presidio, Texas against President Donald Trump’s immigration ban and proposed border wall. Presidio is the sister city to Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico.

We are one community that a river goes through the middle of. To build a wall would just be the worst thing ever and we’re gonna fight this thing.
— John Ferguson, Presidio Mayor

I made a video from the march which was shot and edited on my iPhone 7+. Special thanks to Hope Riot for allowing me to use her song “Frontera” for the soundtrack. It is a perfect fit.

2018 in review

I started 2018 with the epic drum solo from Phil Collins’ “In the Air Tonight,” hoping it’d set the tone for the year.

This year was politically exhausting but great for me career-wise. I covered a lot of marches and protests. I wrote about issues that were important to me. I took photos at lots and lots of music festivals. I participated in the 100 Day Project. I quit my barista gig and became a freelance writer/photographer full-time. My photos were published in the New York Times.

I’m excited to see what 2019 will bring.

But first, Here are some photo highlights from 2018:
