2018 in review

I started 2018 with the epic drum solo from Phil Collins’ “In the Air Tonight,” hoping it’d set the tone for the year.

This year was politically exhausting but great for me career-wise. I covered a lot of marches and protests. I wrote about issues that were important to me. I took photos at lots and lots of music festivals. I participated in the 100 Day Project. I quit my barista gig and became a freelance writer/photographer full-time. My photos were published in the New York Times.

I’m excited to see what 2019 will bring.

But first, Here are some photo highlights from 2018:

Viva Big Bend 2018

Every year, Viva Big Bend brings over 50 bands to the Tri-County area: Marfa, Fort Davis, Marathon and Alpine. It’s always a good time. I was invited to take photos this year so I spent the weekend running around capturing as much the Texas music as I could and all the dancing.

Thank you, Stewart Ramser and Viva Big Bend for having me.
