I'm Sarah Vasquez and I've had this site since March 18, 2003. A friend says I've been blogging before bloggers. I have an associate of arts degree in journalism from Austin Community College and currently working on getting my bachelor's degree in journalism from Texas State University.
I was the Assistant Editor for Accent Newspaper. I currently write for UWeekly Austin Magazine. I've had work appeared in Austin Vida, Austin Sound, Red River Noise, University Star and Spinner and was a 2011 Poynter fellow. I cover all genres of music so it's not unusual for me to be at a sweaty punk rock show one night and then dancing my ass off at a indie pop show the next night. (Yes, this actually happened.)
