Martin Atkins to Speak at Red 7

Martin Atkins, the author of Tour:Smart, will be speaking at Red 7 tonight to share lesson he learned from being in a band and running a label while staying true to the DIY lifestyle.

Sure, he's drummed for some bands you may have heard of called Nine Inch Nails and Pigface, but he decided to share his wisdom from life on the road to fellow musicians who are also trying to make it out there until MTV gives them a call.

I was lucky enough to attend a seminar he gave at ACC yesterday and believe me, not only was he informative, he was also amusing to say the least. He talked about how to make more money off your merch. He showed some very detailed but useful maps for touring.

If you're a musician or in a band trying to get out from Austin (which is pretty much everyone), do yourself a favor and attend this session. It's free. It's at Red 7. And you might just get some free blueberry muffins out of it.
